“it takes guts to tremble.” andrea gibson

Hi, I’m harper

The vulnerability it takes to search for, make contact, and show up for therapy is immense. It takes guts.

I'm so glad you're here.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and i have been practicing therapy for nearly ten years. I have a Master of Arts degree from Argosy University in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California Santa Cruz. I hold a B.A. from Northern Arizona University in Psychology. I am a member of The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

My Approach

for much of my career i have worked primarily with trauma and queerness both of which inherently include grief. more recently, because of that intersection and major losses in my own life, I have intentionally focused my continued education on death, dying, and grief. i have worked both in a clinic setting and private practice, providing care to queer and trans youth and adults, many of whom have been physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually harmed by institutions and societal systems.

My primary goal is to create an honest space where people can be witnessed. I believe in the power of attunement and the power of being joined in presence.

My approach is rooted in a psychodynamic and Attachment Theory. I believe that our drive to attach, and how we learn about relational and systemic safety early in our lives, significantly influences how we move through the world and interact with ourselves and others today.
