“it takes guts to tremble.” andrea gibson

Hi, I’m harper

The vulnerability it takes to search for, make contact, and show up for therapy is immense. It takes guts.

I'm so glad you're here.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and i have been practicing therapy for nearly ten years. I have a Master of Arts degree from Argosy University in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California Santa Cruz. I hold a B.A. from Northern Arizona University in Psychology. I am a member of The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

My Approach

for much of my career i have worked primarily with trauma and queerness, both of which inherently include grief. more recently, I have intentionally focused my work on death, dying, and grief. after major losses in my own life, i had no choice but to confront all of these things more directly. i am a certified end-of-life doula and have completed the grief immersion course with inviting abundance. i trust that life has a way of guiding us to where we’re supposed to be, even when the path there is uncomfortable and scary.

My primary goal is to create a safe, open, judgment-free environment where people can be witnessed. It is my belief that people at every age are the experts of their experience and have the answers they seek already within them. I work with clients to uncover their unique truth, while helping them gain tools to more wholly experience their daily life.

My approach is rooted in Object Relations and Attachment Theory. I believe that our drive to attach, and how we learn to relate to others early in our lives, significantly influences how we move through the world and interact with ourselves and others today.
